PLANTAE

Learn about the plants growing around us! This course will focus on flowering plant identification and plant ecology.
Topics will include plant morphology, plant family recognition, plant surveys, plant collecting, using taxonomic keys, winter botany, species distributions, herbaria, endangered plants, and using stereo (dissecting) microscopes.
Approximately half of each day will be spent in a classroom having lecture and discussions and doing hands-on botany lessons. The other half will be outside going on plant walks and collecting plants for identification.
This course is designed for anyone interested in learning more about wild plants: naturalist, student, land manager, natural resource worker, or conservationist.
